Biased, but the slow burn middle is completely rewarding in the third act. It says there are 6 reviews. Then it becomes 3 critics reviews. When I check the critic review from Rotten Tomatoes there is no actual review. When I check for reviews there are none. And yet this movie has a rating of 8.5? What is going on here.

For as long as I can remember I have had strange occurrences where I will wake up and see people/figures standing/hovering/watching over me. I used to think they were just bad dreams until this past year. Ever since I moved into my new house at school I have been waking up almost every night to the feeling I am being watched and will see things standing over me, full bodies hovering over mine, and figures watching me. Every time I see them I immediately throw my blankets over my head and by the time I look again they are gone. I really have no idea what is going on and am having a hard time finding anyone else with this problem. The house does not have any paranormal activity, so I am not sure what could be the source. And like I said earlier, this has been happening for awhile, just not as frequent as it is now. The figures/apparitions are never the same and sometimes there are even multiple at a time. Some of the figures I see are absolutely terrifying and I am having a hard time falling asleep at night knowing I will wake up to one. Anyone have any idea what could be going on or how to stop it?

I felt alone for most of my life. My mother died when I was 10 and my father knew nothing about raising a child. I didn't have any brothers or sisters and despite my good looks and warm personality, I was never good at making friends. I spent most of the summers with my grandparents who, though kind, did not want to raise another kid. But they felt a sense of responsibility; not for me, but for the part they played in raising an irresponsible son. I remember one of those summers on their farm. I was 16 and had just finished taking my driver’s education class. I had been hired to bale hay for one of the neighbors, a friend of my grandpa's, and he offered to pay me $11 an hour. He also had a cute granddaughter, Summer, who liked to hang out by their pool. I figured having some money and a driver's license would certainly increase my chances of hitting it off with her. And I was right. We became instant friends, and exchanged numbers so that we could keep in touch when fall came and I had to go back to school. We both lived an hour away from our grandparents, me an hour south and her an hour north, but we promised to call each other until we could meet again the following June. Summer and I remained friends that year, even meeting up once in January to exchange Christmas presents. I was quickly falling in love with her, as much as any teenager could fall in love. When we met again in June, the first thing she did was pull me aside behind one of the old red barns and kissed me. It was my first kiss and it nearly crippled me. But all of my joy and excitement was short lived. With tears in her eyes, Summer told me she had awful news. She had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of Melanoma. The doctors told her she had spent too much time in the sun, unprotected. She was going to die, and although I told her I would stay by her side until the end, she said she loved me too much to put me through that. She left and stopped answering her phone. I never heard from her again. "Summers are hard for you, aren't they? " The voice, old and frail, pulled me from my sleep and sent blood marching through my body. I immediately sat up and reached for the gun beside my nightstand. "You don't need that, son. Wouldn't do you any good anyhow. " "Who's there? " I asked looking in every dark corner of the room. "An old friend who you used to think was an enemy. " There was a flash of blue, like ice crystals, and the shape of an old man slowly assembled itself in front of me, near the dresser. "I'm dreaming. Probably night terrors, " I said aloud to myself. "No, son, not this time. I'm as real as your hatred for all things summer. That, " he said, pointing an old blue finger towards the sky, "is one thing we have in common. " "Who are you? " "A friend who has been very near to you all your life. You most likely know me as the not so affectionately named Old Man Winter. But I haven't always been old. I was once like you. A man bitter and cold. A man burned by all the broken promises that summer brings. Fun in the sun? Ha! " "Why are you here, " I asked, pushing my back against the headboard and further away from the apparition. "Ah, straight to the point then. Yes, well like all things in life, I'm dying. I need someone to replace me. But it can't be just anyone. No, it must be someone who is not only cold and frozen inside, but who also has a genuine hatred for all things warm and sunny. I've seen your past. I know about your Summer; not the season, but your first love. " He paused and looked me in the eye. "Yes, I know. It was many many years ago, but the pain is still there. Summer took Summer away from you. That sun of his. Everyone loves the sun, don't they? But look what it did to your Summer. " I hadn't thought about her in years, but this man, this ghost, was right. The pain was still there. All my fondest memories as a child had been during the summer, but it was all a facade. Collectively, those experiences had built me up for the cruelest of jokes. I recalled the July following Summer's death. My father had come to visit me at the farm. I was overjoyed, because he never wanted to see me. His first night there, he met up with some of his old childhood friends and went fishing. He never came back. His friends told us it was such a nice night and the water was so warm that they decided to go for a swim. He dove in head first, hit his head on a rock, and drowned. This old man was right. Summer had been nothing but awful to me. Its heat had burned me cold, cooked me until I was frozen. The apparition had been staring at me, as if he could read my thoughts. A slow icy smile curved his blue lips upward. “So, you will do it then? ” "Yes. " "Fantastic! ” He clapped his frozen hands, sending up a puff of white wintry air. “We don't have time for a long apprenticeship, but I will teach you all I know, son. Come on then, get dressed. It's almost October. And we have a war to start! ".
